The 44 quart is the middle ground and the size most growers settle on. It is deep enough for a full bulk substrate bed and a strong flush, but still light enough to lift, rotate and clean without a second set of hands. If you are standardizing a grow room on one tub size, this is usually the one.

A monotub is a sealed fruiting chamber: a deep tub with a tight lid, ported for controlled gas exchange and filtered against contamination. Plugs stay in during colonization to hold carbon dioxide high, then come out to trigger and support fruiting. It remains the most productive low-tech method for bulk-substrate species.

Other sizes: 28 quart for tighter shelving and shallower beds, 66 quart for maximum volume per tub. Fill them with bulk coco coir and keep spare filter discs on hand.
